This is a truly incredible mind boggling story about a 60+ year old German gentleman Jürgen Locke who built a Jaguar XJ13 from scratch with his bare hands. On a similar note check out one of our UK Member's attempt to do the same by clicking HERE. To go to the Jürgen Locke article click on the link below the pic.

THE MOST DECADENT MOTORING TOOL KIT EVER MADE

We all remember James Bond's famous catch phrase "Shaken not stirred" referring to his preference on how he wished to have his Martini (see recipe below) prepared. During the Golden Age of Motoring or Grand Touring as it is often called, cocktails were the rage of the high society. Many of the high end luxury goods manufacturers such as Alfred Dunhill, Harrods, Hermes and Cartier etc. catered their wares to the motorist. One of the most popular items was of course the cocktail shaker as Martinis and all sort of cocktails were so much in vogue. Below are pictures of a very exquisite motoring cocktail shaker from that era (circa 1948) that I carry in my Jag for those special occasions. Parked in a secluded spot, with the Jag XK 150S hood down, on such special occasions my non James Bond line was "How about a Martini under the stars darling?" It never failed. :-))

CLICK ON THE PHOTOS TO ENLARGE THEM

(2) THE POUCH UNZIPPED

(3) THE COMPONENTS OF THE POUCH. Two large hip flask, 4 shot glasses, a cocktail spoon and the cocktail shaker.

Two smaller round flasks that can be used for Italian Vermouth and Angostoura Bitters (see Martini recipe below), 4 Cocktail glasses, a large glass, a small lidded box for sugar or salt and a lid. All the interiors are gold plated.

(6) HOW YOU WOULD USE THE SHAKER

(7) ALL BUT 2 of THE COMPONENTS PUT BACK IN.THE SHAKER. There are a total of 11 parts all together that make up the shaker.

THE PERFECT CLASSIC DRY MARTINI

  • 1/4 Dry Vermouth
  • 1/8 Italian Vermouth
  • Angostoura Bitters
  • ICE and shake well. ENJOY.

How to get any girl to say YES!

Getting any girl to say YES regardless of your intentions takes some preparation. Here is our suggestion guaranteed to work.

Its a very simple plan. You drive her down the Romantic Road in a hired E-Type. The Romantic Road is a specific itinerary drive right at the heart of the Cotswolds put out by the Cheltenham Tourism, The Cotswolds is the UK's largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Full details of the Romantic Road itenerary and map HERE.

As for the E-Type, it can be hired complete with a picnic basket and a bottle of wine from Classic Motoring also located in the Cotswolds area. The majority of their fleet of cars are E-Types. Click on the picture below (one of their cars) to contact them and start putting this "YES" plan in effect. Please leave comments on this plan preferably after execution.
